Compagnon, the screen-free Knowledge Box for kids aged 8 to 15

The next step after story boxes, designed to grow with children.

Between the story box and the first smartphone

Story boxes work very well when children are young. As they grow, they want more: to ask their own questions, understand the world, learn, listen to music, play and become more independent.

Compagnon was created specifically for this stage. More versatile and interactive than a traditional story box, it takes the form of a connected speaker: no screen, no scrolling, and no need to switch directly to a smartphone or tablet.

At 8, Compagnon can tell a story, suggest a game or explain why dinosaurs disappeared. At 11, it can help a child learn a poem, practise a language or revise a lesson. At 14, it can help prepare a school presentation, an oral exam or better understand current events.

Three worlds to learn, explore and unwind

🌍 World Exploration

To nurture curiosity and understand the world around us:

• History, geography, science, nature and space
• Myths, civilizations, inventions and major discoveries
• Arts, literature, music, cinema and sport
• Current events explained in age-appropriate language
• Answers to children’s spontaneous questions

📚 School Support

To understand, memorize and progress through spoken learning:

• Revise lessons, poems and multiplication tables
• Spelling, grammar, mathematics, science and general knowledge
• Prepare school presentations, dictations and oral exams
• Personalized quizzes and exercises
• Discover and practise 97 foreign languages
• Practise speaking English and other languages aloud

🌊 Relaxation & Creativity

To imagine, play and enjoy audio content without a screen:

• Personalized stories
• Audiobooks
• Quizzes, riddles, guessing games and voice games
• Music without a smartphone or tablet
• Radio without a smartphone or tablet
• Relaxation, breathing exercises and quiet moments

🌱 More independence for children, less mental load for parents

Compagnon lets children do more by themselves: ask a question, revise, listen, play or explore a topic without constantly needing an adult and without reaching for a screen.

For parents, this is useful in very practical everyday situations: during the evening rush, while preparing dinner, during homework time or simply when there is not enough time to be constantly available.

The goal is not to replace parents, but to give children a tool that helps them learn and stay engaged more independently, within a controlled environment.

🎵 Music and radio without giving them a smartphone

Compagnon also lets children listen to music and radio directly by voice, without needing a phone, tablet or web browser.

It gives children more freedom with audio content without introducing them too early to screens, apps, notifications or social media.

🔒 Designed for children and parents

Compagnon uses artificial intelligence (AI) to enable real conversations: children can ask their own questions, request a different explanation, explore a topic further, practise or switch subjects completely.

This AI has been designed for children, with age-appropriate answers, a controlled environment, parental controls and a fully screen-free experience.

• Screen-free: no images, scrolling, videos or notifications
• Voice-only: children speak, listen and imagine
• Age-adapted: personalized vocabulary and level of explanation
• Controlled environment: content designed for children
• Parental controls: schedules, accessible worlds and activity monitoring through the app

🎯 Who is Compagnon for?

Compagnon is designed for children aged 8 to 15, from primary school through middle school, and can be particularly relevant for:

• curious children who ask lots of questions
• children who have outgrown a story box and want something more interactive
• families looking to delay the first smartphone
• children who find spoken learning easier than reading or writing
• some children with learning differences such as dyslexia or dysorthography
• children with attention difficulties or ADHD
• gifted or highly curious children
• some autistic children when a voice-based, screen-free format suits their needs
• blind or visually impaired children, thanks to an entirely voice- and audio-based experience

Compagnon is not a medical or therapeutic device. For children with specific needs, suitability depends on each child’s individual profile and preferences.

🎁 A gift children enjoy and parents feel good about

Compagnon works especially well as a gift because it is playful, educational and designed to evolve with the child. It is not limited to a single activity and continues adapting as children grow.
